Open Medicine Foundation’s (OMF) global reach brings loyal donors from around the world to support the research we fund. OMF is a US-based global nonprofit with the ability to receive donations from anywhere. We are able to provide tax deductible receipts in the US, Canada, Australia, Germany and the UK with an affiliate organization in Canada (OMF Canada), a foreign branch in Australia (OMF Australia), and partnering with Maecenata Stiftung Transnational Giving in Germany and NPT Transatlantic Limited in the United Kingdom.

Please consider the following details as you give:

  • Minimum gift amounts apply based on the organization you use.
  • For donations through Germany and the United Kingdom, your donations may arrive at OMF on a quarterly basis rather than immediately upon the date of your transaction. 
  • Please be sure to notify us about your gift at donate@omf.ngo so we can plan for its arrival. 
  • OMF receipts issued for your international gift may not be acceptable for non-US tax purposes, please check with your tax advisor if needed.

Donate from the United Kingdom

OMF has partnered with NPT Transatlantic Limited  to accept tax-receipted donations in the United Kingdom. Transactions may take several weeks to process. Please be sure to  notify us of your gift at donate@omf.ngo so we can plan for its arrival. We will send you an acknowledgement once we have received your gift from NPT Transatlantic.

NPT Transatlantic Designated Fund Programm

Gifts made to NPT Transatlantic are recognised for both UK and US tax purposes. NPT Transatlantic is recognized by HMRC as an independent UK charity (charity number 1153376) and is recognized by the IRS as a disregarded entity of the 501(c)(3) public charity National Philanthropic Trust in the United States (EIN 23-7825575). 

To contribute to the Open Medicine Foundation Fund:  

  1. Complete the Designated Fund Agreement (PDF) – fees on last page
  2. Complete a Gift Aid Declaration (PDF) if applicable– for UK taxpayer donors only (including US/UK dual registered tax payers)   
  3. Scan and email a copy of all of the above with a copy of your passport (for UK KYC compliance purposes) to forms@npttransatlantic.org.
  4. Send gift using the following: Contribution Instructions (PDF).

Upon receipt of a gift, NPT Transatlantic will –

  1. Issue receipt to the donor concerned
  2. Recover any Gift Aid that may be due
  3. Conduct the required due diligence on the charity (OMF has completed this process)
  4. Once approved, pay the gift plus any Gift Aid over to the charity, less fees.

The minimum Charitable Administration Fee is £100 or $160.
