If you think things are not going well
in your small corner of the world,
mourn if you must, ache, yearn,
long for something else,
lament a little,
for singing the blues
will free your shackled soul.

But once in a while
open your eyes and peer beyond
the edge of your bed of sorrows
and see the light reflected from your neighbor
illuminating your orchid.
This moment will be
o so brief.
But it just might be
enough.

I hope you don’t miss it.

With sadness I read
Thousand stories by ME
Medical disgrace,
abuse and disbelief
Harm all people, here and Beijing

With hope I read
There is research in ME
World patients embrace,
As a brave candle in the mist,
Private funding, also from me.

With fear I write
These needed lines,
Where I openly claim
Once we change your world
Will you help me change mine?
