This video interview, led by Janet Dafoe, PhD, features the research of Robert Phair, PhD. Together they delve deeper into the mechanisms of the itaconate shunt and its potential implications for the field of ME/CFS research.

The Itaconate project is a true testament to the power of patient-funded research. Thanks to the support of patients, OMF was able to invest over $900,000 to both Integrative Bioinformatics and Ron Davis’ team at Stanford in the foundational work that produced the initial theories in the field of metabolic traps and shunts.

We are beyond grateful to patients, their caregivers, and allies for their contribution and support in advancing this important area of research. We are so proud that we can provide opportunities for funding significantly impactful work through our global collaborative network of researchers.

Dr. Phair and Dr. Dafoe’s expertise and passion for the subject make for a truly informative and engaging viewing experience. We hope you enjoy it!
