Autoimmunity
Autoimmunity is the presence of antibodies and T lymphocytes that react to normal parts of a person’s system. In other words, if someone has an autoimmune disorder, their immune system attacks healthy portions of their body.
It’s widely accepted that people with ME/CFS exhibit immune system dysregulation. In some cases, this dysregulation shares features with autoimmune disorders and is connected with impaired cognitive function and inflammation.
