We are grateful to Dr. Richard Podell whose input was invaluable in making this webinar possible. And a huge thank you to our two expert presenters, Barbara Comerford, JD, and Gudrun Lange, PhD who gave their time and remarkable expertise to share their knowledge to help us navigate this difficult task of applying for disability benefits.

Dr. Richard Podell is board certified in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine with his training at Harvard Medical School, followed by his residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Podell is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and was a visiting investigator at Rockefeller University until 2022. He wrote a book and has presented several formal seminars on obtaining Disability benefits.

She focuses on ERISA long-term disability insurance claims and litigation, Social Security Disability claims and litigation, and government disability benefits. She has lectured extensively on these topics throughout the United States and has co-authored professional journal articles on proving disability in ME/CFS cases. She has testified before the U.S Department of Health & Human Services CFS Scientific Advisory Committee and served on non-profit Boards, including the CFIDS Association of America and the Roy White Foundation. Ms. Comerford has also been interviewed by the media on the topic of Long COVID disability and we are honored to hear her thoughts and suggestions today.
